Board = base material + finish

The base material is the core of the board, and different base materials have different properties. The finish is the surface of the board, and its main function is to be beautiful.

01 Particle board (chipboard)

Ingredients: wood planing particles + glue.

Advantages: cheap, good sound absorption and heat insulation performance, easy to process.

Disadvantages: average nail holding force, cannot be repeatedly disassembled and assembled, not waterproof, poor moisture resistance.

02 OSB board

Ingredients: Wood shavings (large sawdust) + glue.

Advantages: good stability, strong nail holding power, high strength, Waterproof performance is average.

Disadvantages: high price.

03 Multilayer board

Ingredients: Thin wood slices + glue.

Advantages: High cost performance, good moisture resistance, strong nail holding force, can be disassembled and assembled repeatedly.

Disadvantages: Cannot be engraved.

04 Density board

Ingredients: plant fiber + glue.

Advantages: cheap, can be shaped.

Disadvantages: poor nail holding power, cannot be repeatedly disassembled and assembled, not moisture-resistant, swells when exposed to water.

05 Solid wood board

Ingredients: natural wood.

Advantages: good texture, durable.

Disadvantages: high price, susceptible to moisture, easy to crack, easy to deform.
